We are SO excited to announce that for our last pop up of 2023, we are teaming up with the wonderful humans over at Tres Gatos in Jamaica Plain to bring you a wine dinner highlighting the delicious and distinctive food and drink of the Spanish Basque country.

Basque cooking embraces minimalism, highlighting one or two ingredients by cooking them simply, without too much adornment from garnishes or sides. Pintxos, or small bites, are a precursor to dinner, often accompanied by a small glass of local cider or wine.

We’ll showcase these traditions through five courses with a drink pairing, beginning with a few pinxtos then moving into larger, heartier plates. Jadu’s beverage pairings will highlight Basque and northern Spain wines and ciders. 


Below is a sample menu:

  • Gilda (olive, anchovy, and piparra pepper skewer) and pan con tomate with boquerones + Txakoli (local white wine) 

  • Tigres Rabiosos (Mussels in spicy tomato sauce) + Basque cider 

  • Roasted carrots with romesco sauce and a marcona almond chili crisp + Albariño

  • Carillera Al Vino Tinto (Wine braised beef) with sunchoke and potato puree + Rioja 

  • Basque cheesecake + sherry
