Jadu was born out of the desire to create an inviting space for folks to be in community with one another — whether over a cup of coffee, an herbal tea, a glass of wine or a mocktail.

Jadu means magic in Hindi. Our name is a nod to the moments when the food, drink, ambiance and conversation come together to create a feeling more magical than the sum of its parts.

We started in 2023 as a series of wine-focused pop ups in bakeries, restaurants, wine shops and apartments around Boston. In early 2024 we jumped on the opportunity to take over an existing coffee shop — Espresso Yourself — when the owners were looking to sell.

While we’re currently operating as Espresso Yourself, we will soon be closing down for renovations (exact date TBD), and then re-opening as Jadu — coffee shop by day, and (liquor license pending) wine bar by night.
